The explorers theme of this room is a reminder of Sir Walter Raleigh, one of the most notable figures of the Elizabethan era, a Statesman, soldier, writer and explorer – he owned Lisnabrin and thousands of acres of  surrounding land, all the way from the Blackwater down to the coastal town of Youghal.  Lisnabrin  is currently subject to a 4000 year lease granted by Sir Walter Raleigh in the 1600’s to the Coppinger family, reminding us we are just a small part of Lisnabrin’s history.
